The ruins of Xnaheb belong to one of the major Maya archaeological sites in southern Belize. The center of this local treasure is located at the very foothills of the Maya Mountains in the Toledo District. Due to the significant archaeological similarities between the two areas, scientists have suggested the possibility that Xnaheb could have been originally founded as an offshoot of the city of Nim Li Punit. Archaeologists have found many stelas and other archaeological remains that are important relics for understanding the culture of the area.
