The archaeological site of Uxbenka is considered one of the five most interesting sites in the Toledo region of Belize, along with other sites, such as Nim Li Punit and Lubaantun. Uxbenka, however, is much smaller, but has exceptional views of the foothills of Maya Mountains.
In recent years, archaeologists have suggested that the site may be considerably larger than previously thought. In fact, some believe that it may stretch to include several mountains in the vicinity. Unfortunately, this area is not officially open to the public.
